Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched and proven psychotherapy method that can assist individuals in recovering from trauma and other distressing life experiences. Using eye movement and other forms of bilateral stimulation, this research-based approach allows clients to process target memories in a manner that leads to desensitizing their physical reactions to traumatic experiences.

Another goal of EMDR is changing the client’s self-perception in response to the memory. EMDR can also assist with resource development for facing challenging situations or processing current life triggers.
